Standing out in a job market is notoriously difficult,
particularly in current times as job seekers are up against redundancies and job losses on a regular basis due to the coronavirus crisis.
However, it seems that one way to stand out it by showcasing one crucial soft skill.
According to Fast Company,
there is a growing appetite among employers for candidates who demonstrate more advanced soft skills, as these tend to be harder to teach.
And a recent study carried out by LinkedIn has discovered that communication was the most commonly required skill in job opportunities posted to the platform in June and July this year.
It seems this trait is far more important to roles that wouldn’t necessarily deem communication an important skill to have.
For example, communication skills would likely be considered more important to industries that were customer-facing, such as sales,
however, there is now a growing emphasis on the importance of these skills in any corporate role.
